Occupying the ground level space in a beautiful turn-of-the-century brick building in the Denver Highlands neighborhood, Teocalli Lohi brings one of the area’s favorite Mexican restaurant and lounge hangs to a destination block among locals and foodies alike. With a recently renovated kitchen space from the prior tenant, the goal was to open up the main dining and bar areas to create a central point of energy that seamlessly blends to the adjacent covered patio. The desire to create both an active lounge and pockets for intimate dining prompted the design team to incorporate a mix of custom-designed booths, banquettes, and community seating set among exposed original brick, tilework, graphic murals, and textured wall finishes. An eclectic mix of lighting elements and living plants throughout adds to the modern-Mexican vibe, and creates a space that is as inviting, rich, and unique as the food and cocktail offering.
